FWAA Bob Holt Lifetime Achievement Award
The FWAA's Lifetime Achievement Award, presented since 2013, has been named in honor of the late longtime Arkansas beat writer Bob Holt. The beloved Arkansas Democrat-Gazette writer passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 65. He died of cardiac arrest after collapsing on his way to the press box following an Arkansas football game at Missouri. Holt covered Arkansas athletics and the Southeastern Conference for 43 years, starting in 1981, and was named the Arkansas Sportswriter of the Year four times by the National Sports Media Association and was inducted into the Arkansas Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame in 2022.
