KANSAS IS REVEAL SUITS NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (FWAA) The Kansas Jayhawks turned around an early 10-0 deficit, then dominated Boston College for a 48-24 road win, beating a Power 5 team on the road for the first time since 2008. With the win, Kansas (2-1) has earned the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Sept. 14.

The announcement came on "Playbook on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM. Each Monday during the season the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week will be unveiled during the program, which airs weekdays from 1-4 p.m. ET. The FWAA's All-America Committee selects the weekly winner and all Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected.

Khalil Herbert ran for 187 yards and Pooka Williams Jr. added another 122 for Kansas, which gave Les Miles a win in his 200th career game as a head coach. The last time two Jayhawks ran for 100 or more yards was 2014 against Iowa State. Senior quarterback Carter Stanley was equally potent through the air, completing 20-of-27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.

"I can't tell you how happy I am for those kids," Miles said. "If anybody wants to know why a guy would come back, college football, this night tells you how important college football is."

This is the fourth time for Kansas to win the Team of the Week honors and its first since 2016 when the Jayhawks beat Texas to end a 19-game Big 12 losing skid.

The other National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Sept. 14 were:

Arizona State (3-0): The Sun Devils captured their first road win over a ranked non-conference opponent since 1997 in a 10-7 victory at Michigan State. Eno Benjamin stretched across the goal line with 50 seconds left for the winning score.

The Citadel (1-2): Jacob Godek booted a 37-yard field goal in overtime to give The Citadel a 27-24 win at Georgia Tech. The Citadel held the ball for 41:50 to notch its ninth all-time win against an FBS opponent and its first since a 23-22 win at South Carolina in 2015.

SMU (3-0): The Mustangs improved to 3-0 for the first time since 1984 after blasting Texas State, 47-17. SMU had 639 yards of total offense, the third-best mark in SMU history.

The Football Writers Association of America has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. In addition to the members of the FWAA All-America Committee, one fan vote from Twitter decides the weekly honor.
