DALLAS (FWAA) – Florida Citrus Sports and Pop-Tarts have teamed up to present the Pop-Tarts ‘Crazy Good’ Play of the Week during the 2024-25 college football season, with each week's play selected in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America.
Now in its second season, the award celebrates incredible athleticism, awe-inspiring strategy and jaw-dropping “did you see that?” moments from across the college football landscape each week.
Auburn is the winner of the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week for Week 3.
Late in the first quarter, after Auburn took a 14-10 lead over New Mexico, senior safety Jerrin Thompson wrestled a pass away from Lobos receiver Luke Wysong as the two went to the ground. The turnover led to a field goal for the Tigers, who went on to win 45-19.
Throughout the season, the FWAA is announcing the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week at the conclusion of each week's games, after the FWAA All-America committee selects one outstanding play each weekend during the regular season. All NCAA Division I schools are eligible
To celebrate the honor, each winning team receives a care package of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.
The Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week follows Pop-Tarts' entry into college football with the Pop-Tarts Bowl, organized and managed by Florida Citrus Sports, and fans can nominate their favorite plays through the Pop-Tarts social media accounts (@PopTartsBowl).
