NCBWA 2025 Season News

The North Greenville University Trailblazers are back on top of the NCBWA top 25 poll. The week five rankings were released Wednesday morning. North Greenville was atop the poll in weeks two and three, before Tampa regained the top spot last week. The Trailblazers received 16 of the 20 first-place votes, sitting at 20-3 on the season.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending March 9. Georgia graduate infielder Ryland Zaborowksi was named National Hitter of the Week, while East Carolina sophomore left-handed pitcher Ethan Norby and Middle Tennessee redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Drew Horn were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 28th year with its 2025 weekly surveys. Tennessee remains as No. 1 for the second week in succession as LSU moved up two places to No. 2. Rounding out this week’s top five are North Carolina, Florida State and Arkansas.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for February presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing Maryland catcher/infielder Alex Calarco its National Hitter of the Month and Ole Miss left-handed starter Hunter Elliott its National Pitcher of the Month.

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the 2025
season and the week ending on March 2, 2025. West Texas A&M senior infielder/designated hitter Dylan Fesperman is the National Hitter of the Week
and West Chester (Pa.) redshirt junior lefty Julian Costa is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Five homers, a one-hitter and a two-hitter captured the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III honors for the week of February 24-March 2.

Gardner-Webb infielder/designated hitter redshirt senior Dale Francis Jr. and Oregon junior designated hitter Dominic Hellman were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Portland senior left-handed pitcher Ryan Rembisz was named National Pitcher of the Week.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 28th year with its 2025 weekly surveys. Tennessee (11-0) has nailed down the No. 1 place in the poll after Texas A&M (now No. 2) was the top-ranked team for the first three polls. Some of the big movers from week three to week four were Oklahoma from receiving votes to No. 19 and Alabama from receiving votes to No. 23.

Five homers over three games along with nine hits, five runs scored and 11 RBIs, and a pair of dominant starts to the season on the mound captured the first National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III honors for 2025. This week’s selections were based on games played up to February 23.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its first NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the 2025 season and the week ending on February 16, 2025. Florida Southern graduate outfielder Ahmad Fitts, is the National Hitter of the Week and Lubbock Christian (Texas) senior lefty Ryan Markwardt is the National Pitcher of the Week. 

For the first time since the 2024 preseason national poll, there is a new number one in this week’s top 25 poll, with 2022 national champion North Greenville taking the top spot.

The Texas A&M Aggies (3-0) hold down the top spot for the second week in succession, while defending NCAA champion Tennessee remains second among the top-25 teams.
