DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending March 9. Georgia graduate infielder Ryland Zaborowksi was named National Hitter of the Week, while East Carolina sophomore left-handed pitcher Ethan Norby and Middle Tennessee redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Drew Horn were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

Zaborowski batted .438 (7-for-16) with one double, six home runs and 18 RBI in just four games in helping No. 5 Georgia (18-1) extend its winning streak to 15. He posted a 1.563 slugging percentage with 25 total bases in just four games in wins over Georgia State and Columbia. Zaborowski smashed two home runs with career-high seven RBI in back-to-back games. He is the national leader in slugging percentage (1.170) and ranks second in home runs (10) and RBI (36), while batting .447 in 16 games with 15 starts.

Norby opened eyes nationwide last Friday by striking out an American Athletic Conference single-game record 19 batters over a career-best 7.1 innings with no walks in East Carolina's 7-0 victory over then No. 24 Coastal Carolina. The 19 strikeouts, just one off the program single-game record, are the most by any pitcher in NCAA Division I this year. Combined with Ethan Young's three strikeouts over the final 1.2 frames of the night, the duo matched the ECU single-game record and compiled the most by any Division I pitching staff in a contest thus far in 2025.

Remarkably, Norby retired the first nine Chanticleer batters of the game via the strikeout and did not allow a Coastal Carolina base runner until the top of the seventh inning.

Horn threw just the fifth no-hitter in MTSU history on Sunday, March 9 against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies'. He tallied 13 strikeouts, six of which were looking on 110 pitches for a career high in strikeouts.

He started off recording seven strikeouts in the first four innings and allowing just one walk, while MTSU put three runs on the board in the fourth. Horn struck out two more hitters in the next two frames, bringing his total to nine. He returned to the mound in the seventh and struck out the side in order on 11 pitches, breezed through the eighth inning with ease, throwing 10 pitches and adding his 13th and final strikeout, before striking out the side in the ninth.
